Russia’s MMK loses capacity after fire on coal stoker

MOSCOW/CHELYABINSK, Jan 28 (PRIME) -- The capacity of Russia’s Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) decreased after a fire on a coal stoker on January 27, an official of the Emergency Situations Ministry told PRIME on January 27.

“We received a report on fire on a coal stoker at 9:00 a.m. local time. The (technological) process was not disrupted but the productive capacity has decreased,” the official said.

The fire, which covered 770 square meters, was extinguished at 4:10 p.m. local time.
